Olympic Torch

The Olympic torch has just passed my sleepy little village and I was super surprised to see how many people were there! I mean the place was packed!!!

And just as the torch was going by- I had literally 5 seconds to film a decent shot-  this numpty walked straight in front of me D':  so half of my film is me yelling at him to move, cause we'd been waiting over a hour   XD

It's getting really close to the start of the games now, and it's really exciting to have seen the torch as I probably will never see it again in my lifetime!

I am off to Ireland tomorrow for a week to stay with relatives and see my heritage
( I'm 1/4 Irish see ;)
The trip will take us over 13 hours! I won't be on blogger for the week but I am planning to take some pictures of the sights and the Japanese flower garden we're going to!!!

What's a BJD?

Freezia
Gentle Freezia

 What is a BJD?

BJD or Ball Jointed Doll-Is any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints.  These are cast in a polyurethane resin: a hard and dense plastic or in some cases Porcelain.  These body parts are strung together by a thick elastic cord.  These dolls have been heavly influenced by Anime and are predominantly produced in Japan, South Korea and China.

The modern bjd market began with Volks line of Super Dollfie in 1999.  Super Dollfie and Dollfie are registered trademarks, but are sometimes used as a generic blanket term to describe all Asian Ball Jointed Dolls reguardless of the manufacturer.  In modern bjd's you see a range of style from the Anime to Hyper-Realistic.  Most are anatomically correct.  They are able to stand on their own and are highly poseable.

Due to the popularity of Anime in Japan these dolls have become very popular and feature  in many photoshoots and make an adorable companion.  But Unfortunately these take a lot of time and money to make so set you back a small fortune if you desire one...

BJDs have gotten popular enough to have makeup video's and anime's about them

For example the anime 'Rozen Maiden' is based around BJDs, I like this anime because I prefer fantasy genres

My favourite doll that I've seen has to be... The Freezia Model! isn't she cute? unfortunately she doesn't come cheap, but a girl can dream!!  See her here!
